PRIVACY

What this app does with your data.

A technical, factual text about what Nem tudo é lua does and does not do with what you type.

In short

  • Your birth date, time and city stay only on this device, in the browser’s storage.
  • The app has no account, no login and no cookies.
  • The app has no analytics, no trackers and no third-party scripts.
  • The calculation runs on your device: what you type is not sent to any server.

What stays on your device

  • The profiles you save: name, date, time and place of birth, and the resolved time zone. They are kept in the browser’s IndexedDB.
  • Your favorites and preferences, such as the language. The chosen language is kept under its own key in the browser’s local storage.
  • If you set a password, profiles and reports are encrypted (AES-GCM 256, with a key derived by PBKDF2-SHA256 and 600,000 iterations). The password is not stored anywhere; without it the data cannot be recovered.
  • The browser can erase a site’s data without warning. That is why the app lets you export a copy as a file.

What leaves your device

Nothing you type. The app only requests static files, the same for everyone: the interface (HTML, JavaScript and CSS), the calculation engine (WebAssembly), the ephemerides, the city database, the time zone database and the Inter font. All of them come from the site’s own domain. No address (URL) contains a date, time, city or name.

What the hosting records

Like any web server, the hosting provider records the IP address, the requested URL, the browser (user agent) and the time of each request, in technical logs. Since no URL carries birth data, these records do not contain what you type. The hosting may be outside Brazil; the provider and region are not yet defined for launch.

Offline use

The browser keeps a copy of the static files above (a Service Worker) so the app can open without internet. That cache only holds public files, the same for everyone; it never stores your data.

Your controls

In My space you can export your data to a file (encrypted, if there is a password), import a copy, set or remove the password and erase everything. “Erase everything” removes this site’s database and local storage from the browser.

Third parties and licenses

  • Swiss Ephemeris (Astrodienst AG), AGPL-3.0 license: the engine that calculates the planets’ positions.
  • GeoNames, CC BY 4.0 license: the city database.
  • IANA Time Zone Database (tzdb), public domain: the time zone database.
  • Inter, SIL Open Font License 1.1: the text font.
  • By project decision, the app’s code will be published under the AGPL-3.0 license.

Controller and contact

The project owner and the contact channel are not yet defined and will be published here before launch.
